Manhood is under attack! This is the cry of men in the Church around the United States and in most of the developed world. The era of the sitcom idiot dad has penetrated the culture and the damage it has done to generations of boys, girls and wives cannot be calculated. This is where we stand as a Church. Bound up in the promises of God’s word, somehow this idiot-dad-husband mentality has seeped into the Church and left men in complete defeat. Gone are the days of men running to God’s promises to stand on for their marriages, their children, their finances and the list goes on. Well the time to stop that is now. The time to say enough is enough. To say that I will not allow my family to be collateral damage in a culture that gets darker each day. That is the purpose of this blog. It exists to bring the men back to God and show them what God has promised them because inside of all of God’s promises are guarantees we can take to the heavenly bank! Ask me when did all this happen, and I’m honestly not sure. As a kid I grew up in the Boston area in the 80’s and 90’s in a sheltered strict household where Dad was the patriarch. Dad screened our movies ahead of time, our TV shows and sugar filled cereal was only bought for special vacation breakfasts. I remember watching TGIF (with my Dad and Mom if she wasn’t working) where four half-hour shows were funny but not demeaning toward men. Where there was a strong family unit and even though the woman on those shows were independent, they were not disrespectful. Dad was the spiritual leader in our household and we acted, and were disciplined out of love and obedience to God and His word. So for me it is tough to understand when and where the mess of our current situation came but I do know the level of depravity it has reached and I think if you’ve made it this far into my first blog post, you know it too. Record babies born out of wedlock and father absenteeism on the rise. Growing popularity in parents raising children purposefully as “gender neutral”. Even men who don’t know Christ are left scratching their heads. So again, what’s the purpose of this blog? For you as a man to live in victory through God’s promises and for you and your family to prosper in the abundance that Jesus promises us. Think that’s a bold statement? Read on and don’t let me convince you, let the Creator of the Universe do that. He can handle His own promises.
